San Gimignano - Monteriggioni - Siena


Your driver for the day will meet you at your accommodation just after breakfast and drive you through central Tuscany to San Gimignano, an ancient and charming town famous for its skyline of rising towers, known as the Medieval Manhattan. You can stroll at leasure through the town centre and taste the local Vernaccia di San Gimignano in one of the many wineries.
Your next stop is a relaxing lunch break in the castle of Monteriggioni, the last fortified outpost of the city of Siena in Medieval times, as the poet Dante Alighieri tells us in some famous verses of his Divina Commedia.
After lunch the car will take you to Siena, where you can spend the afternoon visiting the beautiful Piazza del Campo, one of the most famous squares in the world and the location of the Palio race, the tower of Mangia, the gothic cathedral with the masterpieces by artists like Lorenzetti and Duccio da Boninsegna, and San Domenico Church. Walking through the Medieval streets you will come across several enticing food stores and some trendy fashion boutiques, where you can go shopping for quality Italian clothes.
