Travelling along scenic routes through glorious countryside where Hollywood blockbusters such as "The Gladiator" and "The English Patient" were set, you will next reach the Renaissance "ideal city" of Pienza, built by pope Pio II on the site of his native village. In the town centre you can visit his palace, while a panoramic viewpoint allows breathtaking views upon the Val d'Orcia National Park. Pienza is also famous for its delicious sheep cheese "Pecorino di Pienza". Back to the car, and your driver will take you to your last destination for the day: the hilltop city of Montepulciano, famous for the production of the Nobile di Montepulciano wine. While walking through the town centre, don't forget to peek into the metalsmithing workshops producing copper items.
