In the afternoon the itinerary can move on to Arezzo. The city, founded in the Etruscan period, was a wealthy centre during the Medieval times, constantly fighting against the other Tuscan cities to assess its supremacy. Here you can visit the Church of San Francesco, decorated by the sublime frescos by Piero Della Francesca, Piazza Grande (the central square) and the Cathedral. While visiting the city, you can take a walk along the streets and squares that Roberto Benigni chose as the set for his 3 Oscar winner movie “Life is Beautiful”.
